EuroVelo 15 follows the Rhine from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea. Alpine scenery gives way to Lake Constance, vineyards, historic river towns, major cities and the low-lying Dutch delta.
From the Alps to the Romantic Rhine
The official itinerary groups the journey into seven broad stages. The first reaches Lake Constance from the Rhine’s source; the next continues past the Rhine Falls to Basel.
Beyond Basel, the route runs through Alsace and German wine country towards Karlsruhe and Bingen. The Bingen-to-Cologne section follows the landscapes of the Romantic Rhine.
Towards the North Sea
From Cologne, the itinerary continues through the industrial Rhine corridor towards Arnhem. The final stage crosses the Rhine delta to the North Sea.
The route network includes Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The right-bank extension between Trübbach and Lustenau added the Austrian and Liechtenstein sections in 2025.
