The German Mosel-Radweg follows the Moselle for approximately 248 km from Perl, near the three-country border, to its meeting with the Rhine in Koblenz. Vineyards, wine towns, ancient sites and castles accompany the river.
River riding beneath the vineyards
The route largely follows level, paved paths, often separated from cars. It also uses quieter roads and some urban streets with heavier traffic, so conditions vary between sections.
The steep vineyards remain part of the scenery without requiring riders to climb the wine-growing slopes. Wineries and traditional seasonal wine taverns offer stops along the way.
Rail, buses and boats
Perl station is close to the starting point; Koblenz station is about 2.5 km from the route. Rail connections through Trier, Wittlich, Bullay and Cochem help divide the journey into sections.
Seasonal cycle buses and passenger boats offer further combinations. Seven ferries provide crossings between the banks; check operating times when planning.
Maps and discoveries
Visit Mosel provides the GPX route and links to current closures and diversions. The free Lauschtour app adds 40 audio stops between Perl and Koblenz, offering short discoveries along the ride.
