EuroVelo 19 follows the Meuse from the Langres plateau in France through Belgium and the Netherlands to the North Sea and Rotterdam. The approximately 1,050 km itinerary links river towns, cultural sites and the delta landscape.
Six broad route sections
The official stages begin Langres–Verdun, followed by Verdun–Charleville-Mézières with its First World War history. The next section crosses the French and Belgian Ardennes to Namur.
From Namur, the route continues towards Roermond, then through natural parks and medieval towns to ’s-Hertogenbosch. The final section follows the Rhine–Meuse delta towards the North Sea, with Hoek van Holland and Rotterdam marking the coastal end of the journey.
Maps and navigation
EuroVelo provides country information for France, Belgium and the Netherlands, together with maps and guide listings. These include French route resources and the Dutch LF-Maasroute.
GPX downloads distinguish the complete itinerary from developed sections. The full-route file can include stretches under development or at the planning stage; the developed-parts option contains sections classified as ready to cycle.
Choosing a shorter trip
The river corridor lends itself to selecting a regional section. The EuroVelo portal links to weekend ideas, family trips and public-transport planning information for arranging access.
