The Lakes Route, Switzerland’s national cycle route 9, connects Montreux on Lake Geneva with Rorschach on Lake Constance. Its journey between Swiss lakes crosses Alpine and pre-Alpine regions.

A journey between lake regions

The route combines lakeside scenery with the climbs needed to travel between different valleys and regions. Riders should plan for demanding ascents as well as stretches beside the water.

SwitzerlandMobility divides the itinerary into ten stages, allowing individual sections to be selected or combined into a longer journey from west to east.

Planning your stages

The original SwitzerlandMobility route page provides the stage descriptions and map. Use the individual profiles to judge how much climbing to include in each day and choose the section that fits your trip.
