Kaszubska Marszruta brings together marked cycling routes in the Tuchola Forest area of southern Kashubia. Around Chojnice, Charzykowy and Brusy, riders can choose between lakeside villages, forest tracks and longer connections across the Chojnice region. Pomorskie Travel describes the network and its individual colour-marked trails.

A network through forest and lakes

The original Kaszubska Marszruta project comprises four marked trails and a connecting route. Its infrastructure includes purpose-built cycle paths, rest places, information boards and bridges. The network gives riders several ways to explore the Chojnice area instead of requiring a single end-to-end journey.

The green trail links Chojnice with Mylof, Brusy and Męcikał. The red and yellow trails both connect Charzykowy and Czersk, but take different courses for much of the way. They share the section between Chociński Młyn and Drzewicz, giving riders a useful place to understand how the routes fit together.

Charzykowy, Swornegacie and Brusy

Charzykowy sits beside Lake Charzykowskie, where the promenade, beach and marina make a natural pause before or after a ride. From here the red trail travels north through the Tuchola Forest landscape, passing Bachorze and Małe Swornegacie before continuing towards Swornegacie and Brusy.

Around Małe Swornegacie the route crosses the Brda near the lakes; at Swornegacie it passes the Kashubian Folk Crafts House. Near Brusy, the route also passes Brusy-Jaglie and an exhibition of work by folk artist Józef Chełmowski. These stops give the forest ride a connection to the area's Kashubian culture.

The yellow trail and Konarzyny loop

The yellow trail offers another way between Charzykowy and Czersk, travelling via Męcikał and Rytel. Pomorskie Travel describes forest and field tracks on its early section, followed by separated cycle and shared-use paths alongside local roads. Rivers, streams and lakes are part of the setting around Zaborski Landscape Park.

The black trail, known as the Konarzyny loop, explores the western side of the park through fields, forest and small settlements. It meets the yellow trail near Chociński Młyn. The Chocina river valley and a crossing near Niepszczołąg offer reasons to pause along this quieter part of the network.

Choosing a ride

Surfaces differ across the network: Pomorskie Travel describes asphalt or paving in settlements and gravel forest paths outside them, often along firebreaks. The yellow trail also has sandy stretches, while the black loop includes sandy forest tracks between Zielona Chocina and Chociński Młyn. The latter can be difficult for younger children.

For a shorter family outing, Pomorskie Travel suggests a circuit around Lake Karsińskie using selected parts of the network. It recommends that ride for children able to cycle independently and notes its rolling terrain. Choose the section to suit the riders and check the individual trail descriptions when assembling a trip.
