The Fahrrad area of f.re.e brings bicycles, e-bikes and cycling travel into Munich’s wider travel and leisure fair. Organized by Messe München, the 2027 fair takes place from 10 to 14 February at Messe München.
Bicycles within a wider fair
Fahrrad is one of the themed areas at f.re.e, alongside travel, caravaning and camping, water sports, and outdoor and fitness. It suits visitors who want to compare bicycles and accessories while also gathering ideas for trips and other leisure activities.
The organizer lists e-bikes, mountain bikes, road, trekking and city bikes, children’s bikes, cargo bikes and specialist cycles among the products represented. Accessories range from trailers and helmets to navigation devices. The area also covers cycling holidays and long-distance routes, with advice from ADFC and TransAlpberatung in cooperation with DAV.
The organizer’s directory linked from the bicycle page lists exhibitors and brands from the 2026 edition. Use it to explore the fair’s previous offering, rather than assuming that every listed company will return in 2027.
Test rides and cycling advice
The bicycle area is designed for hands-on comparison. Messe München describes a general cycling track and a separate mountain-bike track, where visitors can try different kinds of bike and compare how they feel. Its cycling stage offers advice and inspiration from experts and cycling professionals.
For a sense of the fair’s character, the organizer reports that the 2026 bicycle area included test rides, BMX shows and information about cycling in Bavaria. Those details describe the past edition; check the current programme for the specific activities and exhibitors planned for your visit.
Dates, tickets and opening hours
The 2027 fair opens to visitors from 10:00 to 18:00 each day, Wednesday 10 February through Sunday 14 February. The organizer lists online and on-site ticket categories, including day, afternoon and family tickets; consult its ticket page for the applicable prices and conditions.
A f.re.e ticket also gives access to the parallel IMOT motorcycle exhibition from Friday to Sunday. The bicycle exhibition is part of f.re.e, so allow time for the other fair areas if they are also of interest.
Getting to Messe München
The fair takes place in the eastern part of the Munich exhibition grounds. The East Entrance address is Am Messeturm, 81829 München. From Munich Central Station, take the U2 towards Messestadt Ost; the organizer says the journey is direct and takes about 20 minutes.
The print-at-home fair ticket does not include free local public transport. If arriving by bicycle, use the publicly accessible, unguarded cycle stands outside the West and East entrances. The organizer prohibits locking bicycles to the perimeter fence.
