Drauradweg follows the Drava from Toblach, also called Dobbiaco, towards Varaždin. The international itinerary links Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, with Alpine valleys giving way to Carinthia and the lower river landscapes.

Seven official stages

The first three stages connect Toblach–Lienz, 48.5 km; Lienz–Spittal an der Drau, 76.6 km; and Spittal–Villach, 39.8 km.

The next sections continue from Villach to Ferlach or St. Margareten, 51.4 km, then to Lavamünd, 66.9 km. The Slovenian valley section links Lavamünd or Dravograd with Maribor over 73.2 km; the final listed stage reaches Varaždin from Maribor over 86.4 km.

Choosing a river section

The stage structure separates the Pustertal, upper and lower Drava valleys, Rosental, southern Carinthia and the Slovenian and Croatian sections. Individual regional descriptions help choose between a shorter valley trip and the wider international journey.

Services along the route

Between Sillian and Lavamünd, the Drauradweg Wirte network includes accommodation, food stops, bicycle hire, cycle taxis, repair services and attractions. The official portal also provides accommodation searches, brochures and arrival information.
