The Polish section of Centralny Szlak Rowerowy Roztocza crosses the Roztocze region from Kraśnik to Hrebenne, with Zwierzyniec linking its two principal sections. Red waymarks accompany a journey through farmland, river valleys, forests and places shaped by several cultural traditions.

From Kraśnik to Zwierzyniec

The route begins in Kraśnik and heads southeast through western Roztocze. Kraśnik County's tourism description names Szastarka, Batorz, Otrocz, Goraj, Radecznica and Szczebrzeszyn along the way to Zwierzyniec. Fields and forests frame much of this first part, with villages and towns providing places to pause.

In Radecznica, the sanctuary of St Anthony includes a Baroque church and Bernardine monastery on Łysa Góra. Szczebrzeszyn offers a different stop: its former synagogue, Jewish cemetery, Orthodox church and Catholic churches recall the town's varied cultural history. Allow time to explore before continuing towards Zwierzyniec.

Along the national park’s surroundings

Roztoczański Park Narodowy describes Zwierzyniec as the junction between the Kraśnik and Hrebenne sections. In the park's buffer zone, the trail connects Szczebrzeszyn and Józefów. From Szczebrzeszyn it follows the left bank of the Wieprz past villages including Topólcza and Turzyniec before reaching Zwierzyniec.

Beyond Zwierzyniec, the park's account takes riders through Sochy and Tereszpol towards Górecko and Józefów. This part crosses river valleys and climbs onto uplands, opening views across fields, woodland and settlements. The park's route description was written by Magdalena Kaproń.

Towards Hrebenne

Józefów is a useful place to pause: the regional tourism guide highlights the Babia Dolina quarry and its observation tower, as well as the town's recreational reservoir. Around Susiec, the Nad Tanwią nature reserve is known for the small river cascades called szumy.

Further along, Bełżec invites a more reflective stop at the memorial on the site of the former German extermination camp. The Polish itinerary continues towards Hrebenne. The regional guide also points to wooden religious architecture and roadside chapels as part of the area's cultural landscape.

Planning the ride

The regional tourism organisation describes the Polish section as approximately 190 km, mostly on asphalt with a smaller proportion on unpaved ground. The route is marked red. Zwierzyniec makes a logical place to divide the journey or focus on one part, while the park's description helps identify villages between Szczebrzeszyn and Józefów.

Build in time for the places that interest you: historic Kraśnik and Szczebrzeszyn, the national park area around Zwierzyniec, or the landscape and memorial sites farther southeast. Check the national park's visitor information when planning any separate visit to its attractions.
