Camino del Cid explores the landscapes and stories associated with El Cid across eight Spanish provinces. The project provides separate road-cycling, mountain-bike and gravel itineraries, alongside walking routes.
Five main historical sections
El Destierro crosses Burgos, Soria and Guadalajara. Tierras de Frontera continues through Guadalajara, Soria and Zaragoza, while Las Tres Taifas links Zaragoza, Teruel and Guadalajara.
La Conquista de Valencia connects Teruel, Castellón and Valencia; La Defensa del Sur continues through Valencia and Alicante. These named sections provide a framework for selecting a journey across the wider project.
Choosing your cycling variant
Road touring, MTB and gravel use their own route selections. Additional branches and loops include Álvar Fáñez and Gallocanta, with other rings available for particular travel modes. Choose the appropriate cycling version before downloading navigation files.
Planning and services
The official portal includes a map viewer, download area, signposting information and travel app. Accommodation, bicycle hire and luggage or bicycle transport listings support multi-day planning.
The Salvoconducto passport and the project’s stamp network add a way to record the journey. Tourist offices and the service directory provide local information along the selected route.
